Our History
Cross & Norman
Our history begins in 1964 when Bob Norman and Ben Cross opened up the first Volkswagen Franchise in the Fraser Valley, and only the third in all of British Columbia! Cross and Norman's facility was built on the same lot where we stand today; at the corner of Fraser Highway and 200th Street! Notice the one lane roadway and dirt road sides absent of sidewalks. This first building held only one vehicle in its showroom and only two bays were present in the service center!
In 1997, Bob Norman's son, Bruce Norman took over as the sole proprietor. By this time, the dealership had been expanded to accommodate a four-car showroom as well as a four-bay service center with dedicated parts and service counters. The business changed names once again, becoming Langley Volkswagen in 2001. The facility was upgraded to include customer parking, a fifth bay and a heated two-car wash bay and detailing center.
Two years later in 2003, the dealership was further upgraded by the expansion to a six-car showroom, dedicated customer waiting area, designated reception and accounting, expanded service and parts center, upstairs boardroom, new offices, air conditioning and internet access.
Milani Auto Sales
Meanwhile, not so far away on Hastings Street in Burnaby, the Milani's were also entering the auto sales world. Lino opened up Milani Auto Body in 1982, his youngest son Jeff who was always fascinated with cars, spent much of his time helping his father out at the shop. Jeff had worked with cars ever since he could walk, so naturally in 1991, Jeff opened up his own car dealership which happened to be located beside his father's shop. Jeff's older brother Derrick ran the body shop for their business.
Milani Auto Sales took off immediately; in 1996 they moved to a larger lot and also opened up a second location including an auto finance company. In 2009, Jeff sold his property with plans to find a new location for his business which had grown into a complete auto sales, service and auto body facility.
